Arts and Education at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum .
The Public Programs department of the Old West Museum
is dedicated to providing educational opportunities, both formal and
informal, to Museum visitors.
Through examination, exploration, discussion,
interpretation and participation the Museum’s programs promotes a better
understanding of the history and meaning of the Cheyenne Frontier Days
celebration as well as the history, values and culture of the American West. 27th Annual Western Spirit Art Show and Sale March 2 - April 13, 2008
This exhibit showcases the works of over 130 western artists. This juried show is one of the region's premier western art exhibitions awarding cash prizes for Best of Show and first place in each of seven media including watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, pencil, sculpture and mixed media.
The Vandewark Miniature Show is a popular feature of the exhibit. The display of petite art honors the generous support of J.D. Vandewark and Floyd F. Vandewark to the CFD Old West Museum and the Cheyenne Community.
