Whether driving through town and visiting our kids’ room or scheduling a visit during one of our many annual children’s events and programs, the CFD Old West Museum is an ideal venue in which you and your entire family can share Cheyenne’s thrilling history together.

Women’s Civic League “Hole in the Wall” Children’s’ Interactive Gallery Interactive learning displays and other hands-on activities await visitors of all ages into our wildly popular kids room. Whether you’re a young cowpoke looking to try your hand at roping or a young cowgirl wanting to try your hand at hide painting or other crafts, the CFD Old West Museum offers a safe, family friendly environment in which visitors of all ages can learn about our region’s western heritage. The kids room remains open daily and is available for party rentals for birthdays.

School tours are available at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum throughout the calendar year. Children’s Summer Camps

It’s that time of year again to sign up for summer camps. This summer the CFD Old West Museum will offer two fun-filled, educational camps. All camps are designed for children ages 5 to 12 years old. Cost per student is $130 for Museum members and $160 for non-members per camp and both camps will run 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Fees include art supplies and snacks. Please bring a sack lunch every day. Space is limited, register today!

JUNE 19 – 23 – Western Art Camp Professional artists lead students in the exploration of American western and folk art.  Kids will learn the basics and create a wide variety of original western art.  In order to accommodate different skill levels, the students will have two project variations. Ages 5-14.

JUNE 26 – 30 – Kid’s Cowboy and Cowgirl Camp Relieve the dust and glory of the American West!  Learn about the wetsern values and traditions with dancers, ranchers, trick ropers, trained riders, cowboy art projects, and more! Ages 5-12.
