The Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum is a perfect destination for young visitors to experience the region’s rich western heritage. Whether driving through town and visiting our kids’ room or scheduling a visit during one of our many annual children’s events and programs, the CFD Old West Museum is an ideal venue in which you and your entire family can share Cheyenne’s thrilling history together.

Women’s Civic League “Hole in the Wall” Children’s’ Interactive Gallery Interactive learning displays and other hands-on activities await visitors of all ages into our wildly popular kids room. Whether you’re a young cowpoke looking to try your hand at roping or a young cowgirl wanting to try your hand at hide painting or other crafts, the CFD Old West Museum offers a safe, family friendly environment in which visitors of all ages can learn about our region’s western heritage. The kids room remains open daily and is available for party rentals for birthdays.

School Tours

School tours are available at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum throughout the calendar year. Children’s Summer Camps

It’s that time of year again to sign up for summer camps. This summer the CFD Old West Museum will offer two fun-filled, educational camps. All camps are designed for children ages 5 to 12 years old. Cost per student is $55 for Museum members and $75 for non-members per camp and both camps will run 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Fees include art supplies and snacks. Space is limited, register today!

JUNE 13 – 17 – Kids Cowboy and Cowgirl Camp Relive the dust and glory of the American West! Learn about the West with dancers, ranchers, trick ropers, trained riders, along with fun folk art projects and more! Ages 5-12.

JUNE 27 – July 1 – Kids Beginning Art Camp Professional artists will lead students in the exploration of Western art and folk art. Kids will learn the basics while creating a wide variety of fun projects. Ages 5-10.

Advanced Western Art Camp
Professional artists from the Mountain West Region will help students find their artistic voice through a variety of creative projects that will keep their imaginations running. Ages 10-14.
Camp hours are from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
We will have five half-day camp days, spread throughout the summer. The students can attend all five, or can select days to attend.
