Linda Prokop
Linda Prokop moved to Loveland, Colorado in 1985 after completing my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Linda was fortunate to fall in quickly with the existing sculpture group and worked with the artist George Lundeen. The foundry work and business opportunities created a foundation that became a springboard for her sculpture career. Linda has been sculpting for over thirty years. She has life size and monumental pieces in public and private collections around the country and small works collected around the globe.
Linda uses storytelling and the human figure to create understandable imagery. “I focus on themes of a nostalgic nature and emphasize depicting people and their relationships. I derive many of my works from simple everyday occurrences and as a result, have found the power of a universal connection. No matter what our age or location, we all value and treasure, love, family, kindness, and an emotional connection to the world around us. It is a never-ending source of inspiration.”
She is honored to have recently been chosen by the City of Cheyenne to create two sculptures for the Art on the Corner Project. She has developed small scale models to serve as designs for the Foster Grandparents program and the Coats for Kids founding member. It is a great privilege for her to depict these key programs and the people they represent, as well as becoming an artist featured in the cities permanent collection.
