About the event

Terrestrial Habitat Program Manager, Ian Tator, will present a talk focused on the 2026 Mule Deer Conservation Strategy, outlining how Wyoming Game and Fish plans to prioritize the conservation and improvement of mule deer habitat across the state. He will highlight specific projects completed by the Department and explain how these efforts are building a strong foundation to help mule deer recover and thrive in the years ahead.

Ian has been with the Department since 2012, working to enhance habitat for a wide range of Wyoming’s terrestrial species. He led the development of Game and Fish’s Invasive Annual Grass Program and has helped create rapid habitat assessment methods for aspen, riparian, and shrub/rangeland ecosystems.
