Discover & Discuss Nights at the Museum; Frank Mondell: Power & Politics in the American West

For 13 terms Frank Mondell was Wyoming’s sole representative in the United States House of Representatives, elected in 1894 until his ultimate political demise in the election of 1922. His terms in Congress witnessed the reallocation of native lands for settler use, the reworking of water rights, the designation of Devils Tower as the first national monument and the Tea Pot Dome scandal. This presentation will cover Mondell’s career and mixed legacy.

Presented by Lucas Fralick. Lucas Fralick is the Assistant Director of the Laramie Plains Museum, Fralick is also the Director of the Wyoming Center for the Book, a Library of Congress affiliate under Wyoming Humanities. He earned an MA in History from the University of Wyoming in 2020. Fralick lives in Laramie, WY.
