Lee Alban is a graduate of the Schuler School of Fine Arts in Baltimore, Maryland where he learned traditional techniques of oil painting and drawing.  He continues to make his own mediums, oils, and paints, applying the techniques of the Old Masters to produce realistic contemporary paintings. Early in his career Lee explored all types of subject matter, winning major awards in every category, including landscapes, wildlife, portraits, figures, and still life.  Over the last 20 years he has used these skills to develop a reputation as a Western artist, participating in numerous juried shows including the Charles M. Russell show in Great Falls, Montana, the Bosque Art Classic in Clifton, Texas, NOAPS Best of America Exhibition in Jackson, Wyoming, Southwest Art of the Heartlands in Mena, Arkansas, the Mountain Oyster Club Show in Tucson, Arizona, and American Plains Artists Exhibition in San Angelo, Texas.  His work has been featured in Art of the West, Western Art Collector, American Art Collector, International Artists and other magazines.  Major Awards include this year’s John Stevens Jones Purchase Award (Bosque Art Classic) and the Gold Medal of Honor from 107th Annual Exhibition (Allied Artists) as well as numerous Best of Show, Best Narrative, Best Figure and Portrait categories.  He is represented by galleries in Dallas, Texas, Fredericksburg, Texas, Santa Fe, New Mexico, Scottsdale, Arizona, Charleston, South Carolina, and Annapolis, Maryland.
