Lee Alban graduated from the Schuler School of Fine Arts, a traditional atelier that has produced some of the country’s finest artists. His western paintings have been featured in Art of the West magazine, Fine Art Connoisseur, Southwest magazine, Western Art Collector, and American Art Collector. He has won the Excellence in Still Life Award from Oil Painters of America and the Gold Medal Award from Allied Artists of America. In 2024 his painting, How the West Was Won, received the John Stevens Jones purchase award from the Bosque Museum in Clifton, Texas.

His work has been offered annually in the C.M. Russell Auction and exhibited in the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum’s Small Works Great Wonders Show, the Mountain Oyster Show, Southwest Artists Inc. Art of the Heartland, Western Spirit Show, Cheyenne Frontier Days™ Western Art Show, and American Plains Artists.
