Guadalupe Barajas

Guadalupe Barajas earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in three-dimensional design from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Illinois. His transition from teaching to becoming a bronze sculptor reflects dedication and passion, inspiring art enthusiasts and students alike to pursue their creative paths. His subjects of choice are wildlife and telling life stories of his Native American heritage through representational bronzes.

His award-winning sculptures, which include nineteen large bronzes displayed throughout Cheyenne, Wyoming, exemplify his ability to create impactful, site-specific works that resonate with Western art enthusiasts and collectors alike.

Guadalupe’s awards include the Wyoming Governor’s Art Award, the Western Spirit Art Show's Best of Show titles won consecutively, and his bronze ‘Tatanka’ featured on the cover of Bison World magazine, underscoring his recognition within the art community.

Two of Guadalupe’s bronzes, ‘Winds of Change’ and ‘Cowboy Nightmare’ are part of the CFD Old West Museum’s permanent collection.
