Howard Halbert

Howard Halbert was born and raised in North Central Texas, growing up on a large ranching operation which kept him away from his art for many years. A few years ago, he picked up a pencil and began to draw again. Halbert chose western because of his background and the medium of graphite because he loves the challenge of only darks and lights to work with. He has been in such shows as The Mountain Oyster Club, Cheyenne Frontier Daysâ„¢ Western Art Show, and the Small Works Great Wonders where he won the Volunteer's Choice Award in 2016. Halbert's publications include Southwest Art Magazine and Cowboys & Indians May/June 2017 issue. His originals are represented by McLarry Fine Art, Santa Fe, NM.
