Trish Stevenson
Trish Stevenson lives in rural Montana, surrounded by the people, animals and action that inspire her paintings. She attributes the Western soul of her work to memories of her grandfather, a locally famous bronc-riding cowboy in his day, who loved horses. While painting in oil or pastel she focuses on traits like strength, determination and the battle of wills, especially in rodeo paintings, and says, “I let the colors and brushstrokes fly,” to achieve the “Spirit of the West.” Stevenson grew up in Colorado, riding and sketching horses, attended the Colorado Institute of Art and studied in Europe. Her work is shown nationally, has been included in several museum exhibits and was recently featured in Art of the West magazine.
