Gary is a second-generation western artist from Canyon, Texas. Growing up surrounded by western art, horses and longhorn cows and under the influence of his western artist father, he knew from an early age that all he wanted to do was to be an artist. Working in oil, pastel and bronze, his goal is to help preserve the Western way of life by giving an accurate representation of the people, places and animals that are the story of the American West.

He has been a working artist for over forty years along with a 28 year career as an educator where he taught art and computer graphics. Gary has won numerous awards throughout the years at shows such as the Phippen Museum Art Show and Sale, The Bosque Art Classic and many others.
